Harvard Project for Asian and International Relations Paper Presentation on Leadership is Proudly Sponsored by AIM Kelab Malaysia and Beacon Global Network, Inc.
Having been selected as paper presenter on Leadership at the Harvard Project for Asian and International Relations at Hilton PJ, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia on August 21-24, 2008 along with seven (7) others from Harvard University, University of Munich, University of Sunshine Coast, National University of Singapore, Tsinghua University, University of Karachi and Korean Minjok Leadership Academy shows the leadership of the Asian Institute of Management in the field of academic excellence and how it molded us to be leaders and managers in the New Asia.
Admission in the Business and Academic Conference of the HPAIR 2008 requires academic and business rigor and financial resources. It was an almost two weeks conference combined with preparation for the paper presentation running from August 12-25, 2008. HPAIR 2008 is an avenue for the future leaders of Asia to discuss issues involving the “ Global Integration of the Business World, How Corporate Governance Affects the Business Climate in Asia, and series of Workshops on Social Security, Rule of Law, Leadership and Economic Growth.”
An avenue to meet CEO of GE Asia, DAIMLER, the Secretary General of ASEAN, AIM Kelab Malaysia Alumni President Datuk Dr. Mohd Annas Mohd Nor, Secretary Hazi Zul Baharom (HRD Asia Congress Director), Dr. Zaki (IIUM), Treasurer Mr. Lai Huat (Dir, Kolej Pacific Kuantan), AIM Governor Tan Sri Dato’ Dr. Lin See-Yan (President, Harvard Club of Malaysia), and the prince of Perak Malaysia, Malaysia HRH Raja Nazrin Shah.
Sponsorship
HPAIR is a Harvard run student organization and therefore financing the business and academic conference which costs in more or less 1700USD is a tough resourcing to be made by an ADB-JSP scholar like the presenter who had been a full time student at AIM for the past 11months.
Then comes the power of the AIM Alumni Network. Getting into HPAIR all started from the motivation and support of AIM Alumni and Beacon Global Network, Inc. founder Ms. Berna Lomotan (MBM ’74), Mr. Celso Vivas (MBM ’73) and AIM Kelab Malaysia Mr. Hazi Zul Baharom (MM) to proceed with the registration, then follows the rest, then the paper presentation on the Challenges of Virtual and Volunteer Organizations highlighting the Internal Analysis of the Organizational Strategy of the Young Moro Professionals Network, Inc. under the advisory of AIM CDM Associate Dean Mario Antonio G. Lopez. The presentation was witnessed by AIM Kelab Malaysia President Datuk Dr. Annas who were also among our special guests in our gala dinner. Acknowledgment to the coordination made Mr. Greg Atienza, Executive Management Director of the Alumni Relations Office.
The Power of AIM Alumni Network (AIM Kelab Malaysia)
The more or less 4,000 AIM Alumni in Malaysia shows the strongfold leadership of AIM Alumni. They were the major players in the business industry. Datuk Dr. Annas had shared his words of wisdom that making it in HPAIR 2008 is a practice of one’s management skills specifically in dealing with calculated risks as I came in the conference dependent on sponsorship. Hazi Zul had toured me in Putra Jaya and the best of KL with his family after my paper presentation.
Indeed a great experience! This is the power of AIM Alumni Network!
