Guiapal, MDM 2008, as HPAIR Presenter
Aleem Siddiqui Guiapal, MDM 2008, was selected as one of the presenters at the 17th Harvard Project for Asian and International Relations (HPAIR) Academic Conference at the Hilton Petaling Jaya, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia on August 21-24, 2008, along with seven others from Harvard University, University of Munich, University of Sunshine Coast, National University of Singapore, Tsinghua University, University of Karachi, and Korean Minjok Leadership Academy. Aleem presented a paper on the “Challenges of Virtual and Volunteer Organizations,” which highlighted the internal analysis of the organizational strategy of the Young Moro Professionals Network, Inc. under the advisory of AIM Center for Development Management Associate Dean Mario Antonio G. Lopez.
Aleem was sponsored by the Kelab AIM Malaysia and Beacon Global Network, Inc. “Being a presenter shows the leadership of the Asian Institute of Management in the field of academic excellence,” Aleem said. “The power of the AIM alumni network was a great experience. Getting into HPAIR started from the motivation and support of Beacon Global Network, Inc. founder Ms. Berna Lomotan, MBM’74, Mr. Celso Vivas, MBM’73, Kelab AIM Malaysia Honorary Secretary Haji Zul Baharom, MM’89, and Prof. Nieves Confesor. Kelab AIM Malaysia President Mohd Annas Hj. Mohd Nor, MM’84, was present during my presentation.”
HPAIR is a student-run organization of the Harvard University Faculty of Arts and Sciences. HPAIR's goal is to offer a rigorous academic program and continuous forum of exchange to facilitate discussion about the most important issues relevant to the Asia-Pacific region.
